The next club trip will be to Steele, AL on Saturday, February 8. Steele offers a number of single pitch trad and sport routes on quality southern sandstone. Because it’s a south facing crag, it makes for a good winter climbing destination.
We will be carpooling from the Thornton Road Park and Ride and plan to depart at 7:30am sharp. To get to the Thornton Road Park and Ride, follow I-20 west 7 miles outside of the I-285 perimeter. Take exit 44 and turn right onto Thornton Road. Turn right at the first light on North Blairs Bridge Road and then take another right at the 3-way stop into the parking area.
For those meeting us at Steele, we should be arriving at the crag <https://maps.google.com/maps?q=33.9346,-86.2331&t=h&hl=en> around 9:30 Eastern Time.
