The club’s trip to Horse Pens 40 was a solid day of fun bouldering. A couple of us camped out to take advantage of the better conditions at night. The group sampled classic boulders at HP40 warming up in Ten Pins area before and moving on to Turtle Area, Merlin, Bum Boy, Lady Slipper, and a few others. While it was Max’s first outdoor bouldering trip and he sent Bum Boy in the sun, the send chain was awarded to Zach for is extensive Beta knowledge and great recommendations for the group. Even though our skin started to wear thin after a long day, our stoke remained high.

All in all, just a really solid day out. Good weather, good people, and a mix of climbing that works for all levels. Mount Yonah continues to be one of those spots where you can learn, push yourself a bit, and still keep things fun and low-pressure.
