Ice Ice Baby! 6 members of the ACC flew into Montrose, CO on Feb 18 and made the drive to Lake City, CO to visit the ice park there. An alternative to Ouray, Lake City now has 200+ routes contained in 5 areas. Most routes are steep (at least WI3+/4) and TALL! We were stretching out 80 meter dry lines most days when top roping!
Most pitches were around 100-150ft tall, so 3 days of those routes at 8700ft above sea level made it a real pumpfest. Collectively over 3 days we climbed around 7-8,000ft of vertical gain
2 lines where lead by Jon Elwell, a WI2+ gully and WI3 line.
We’re already looking forward to next year!
